Gretchen is a self-admitted “data nerd” who is passionate about bridging the gap between foundations and nonprofits. Before joining Kuni Foundation, Gretchen spent thirteen years as the Grants Manager for the James F. and Marion L. Miller Foundation. In that time, she witnessed the evolution of the application process from paper proposals submitted via USPS to online grantee portals. She is a certified Foundant user.
Her path to foundation work was indirect. She has driven a forklift, worked at a funeral home, created models for trade shows, managed donor databases, and produced a city-wide pie baking competition. She is on the board of Curious Comedy Theatre and has enjoyed performing sketch, improv and stand-up comedy.
Gretchen received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Pacific Northwest College of Art. She is an active visual artist at Thurman Street Studios where she paints portraits, flowers and desserts.
